    New CD player advice

I haven't bought a new CD player in about 5 years and after selling my car, I am looking to upgrade the factory CD player in my jeep. Either a media player or CD player will work, there are just more CD players then media players out there. The only things I need are rear USB, bluetooth(although that might not work well in a jeep), and HD radio. I usually buy pioneer decks but I was really unimpressed with the cheap look to the ones I saw at best buy......that and i didn't like the mix track track feature and the interface.

I had alpine speakers and amps in my last car and they sounded good. One of the decks I like on crutchfield is an alpine but its also $300

Thing looks nice. Covers all the bases; HD Radio, Pandora, XM, Aux, USB, ...

Do you have any power/channel specific requirements?

No, I don't plan on installing any amps or subs. I mainly want to listen to stuff I stream through my phone instead of just am/fm radio. I may eventually replace the stock speakers but I won't do anything like I did with my last car lol.

                LOL.

Any other HUs pique your interest (alpine or otherwise)?

                    Don't over look Kenwood's...

Find a good local high end stereo shop (not Akmeds dirtbag $99 shop) and shop around... Ask questions, research.

Do you plan on hooking up an amp?

                    or High end speakers?

A few of the lower-end (at least) Alpines have issues syncing via Bluetooth w/ Android devices for use with Pandora.

When it works, it is GREAT! When it doesn't, I just switch to CD, and worry about it later...

(There IS a way that usually works, and that is to start Pandora after Bluetooth Auto-pairs, turn stereo off, then as soon as the screen changes to the white Pandora screen/background (so after the Pandora "Loading" screen) turn stereo back on, and that usually works, but when it doesn't... then it can be a real pain. Many others have this issue I have read while researching it, and I did update to the latest firmware, but it didn't help a bit. )

I looked at kenwood's equivalent excelon model but I didn't like the interface on it. It's hard to explain but the way the controls are setup, just didn't make sense to me.

It's a jeep so no amps or high end speakers, just a nice deck with rear USB, hd radio, and Bluetooth.

I am going to check out a high end shop in Santa Cruz tomorrow and try them out.

I have an iPhone so hopefully it works......it seems like everything is made now to work with iPod/iPhone and android is still not top priority even though they outsell iPhones. I would hope alpine would fix that issue because that is crazy lol.

I'd rather deal with the issue... And keep efficiency.

As long as they work for you, I owned a couple droids and they were complete pieces of Yee......I wouldn't want to be stuck with one for two years.
