GPS tracking of daughters phone.

So my step daughter turned 15 recently and has taken it upon herself to lie to my mother in law and myself and fiance about her where abouts after school. she is supposed to walk about a mile to her gramdmothers house after school amd wait there till i get outta work to come pick her up. I find out she has been consintently late by 2-3hrs to her grandmothers this past week.

Im mot tech savy but is there a way i can access her gps on her phone remotely to tell where she is at? she has a cheap android phone from boost mobile, while i have a cheap samsung fro. tmobile and her mother a S3 on at&t.

She just lied to her grandmother about staying at scool late, because I just called her teachers and they all went home....

Android has an app called lookout. It comes preinstalled on lots of samsung phones. I know its preinstalled on s3. The location services is free to use. Pm me if u need assistance. I can give u a rundown.

the apps require access to the phone .. and most likely she will know about it.. if you want to go stealth mode you will most likely have to pay for it.. I know sprint offers the service for a fee ..$5? a month or so..

The play store can get it installed, then after you create an account, you can pay the $5.00, or so.
You have to have the phone in-hand to install the locked portion that cannot be unlocked...

Tracking (Location history on tracking graphed on Google map background), remotely take pictures, screenshots, etc, all remote, and they can't uninstall it.

Once installed, you have to sign-up for the service, and it is unlimited use (Max of 5-6 phones or something) flat, one-time fee for the app to make it non-trial, I think it was only like $5. Most apps like this that offer this service have a monthly fee, but not this one.

The trial proved it was good enough to drop funds on, by testing on my phone within the 1st hour of playing with features...

Just take away privileges at home as punishment. if later on she finds out you're tracking her, she might feel you're snooping and then communication will go downhill. I've known my stepdaughter since she was a young teen, and she's 27 now with a college degree and a great job.

Taking away privileges at home will not prevent pregnancy if she is screwing someone during that time the OP doesn't know where she is, while lying about it, and disappearing for a few hours. Kids don't think about the bigger picture, the ramifications of a pregnancy, or that it could happen to them and how much child care costs. It is my responsibility to make sure my kids stay out of trouble, as much as possible until they turn 18, then guide them as much as they will allow after that.

I believe you got lucky and it worked, but there is an overabundance of bad influences that might have made it worse. Good for you.

If you are paying for the service, it is your right as a parent, especially if they are lying about walkabouts. Sometimes you have to let them know they can't get away with BS.

Take away the cell phone, why spy on her. I didn't have a cell until I was grown and moved out....and I paid for it on my own.

Some people have children that go to another state to visit the less-responsible parent (which is why one parent can have primary custody), and fly by themselves one-to-two times a month, which is why some children need a cell-phone, in case of emergency, AND to give them SOME independence until they are 18 and/or responsible.

Don't judge, people... Sometimes there are reasons beyond what goes on in other's little box of "perfect reality", or comprehension and forethought.

Sprint family locator informs the person when they are being tracked. Not the route to go if you don't want her to know.
