Laptop speakers stutter, mouse freezes, keyboard lags on wireless.

    Hi all,

I know the title is confusing. When my sister connects her Lenovo laptop to my wireless system at home, her speakers stutter, the songs don't play clearly, her mouse freezes and when she types there is a lag in between letters. I have rebooted the system, she's rebooted her computer, didn't work. Her computer works fine on other wireless systems and at the same time everything else of ours works fine on our systems, i.e. Ipad, Asus tablet, etc.

What do you guys think can be going on, any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Emil

Could be the wireless adapter or the drivers for the adapter on the laptop. See if there are newer drivers and try those first.

Lenovo laptops come with a very handy utility that will automatically scan for and update all the drivers. Have her connect to the internet (preferably using the Ethernet port) and run it. I suspect you'll see lots of updates available.

Note that this is different from Windows update, so make sure she is updated with the Windows update too.

Updating the drivers didn't work. According to her "Still getting that weird noise when I play music and my pointer/cursor stalls." Any other ideas?
          Thanks,

The wifi adapter itself could be bad. If it's a built in one, you can always disable it in windows device manager and try an external adapter. A USB would be easiest. If you can borrow one, you can test it out and see if that's the issue.

From what you posted I would say it could be a couple of things. It might be something like a dhcp issue with conflicting/wrong ip settings. If the laptop connects elsewhere without problem, I doubt it is the adapter failing. Verify your ip settings first. After that if you still have problems, use task manager and see if any programs are slamming your system hard, might be something that she has installed is trying to communicate with something unavailable or blocked on your router.
              Can you punctuate the following?

that that is is that that is not is not

When she connects with her laptop via other wireless networks everything is fine. I think it's something to do with my house's wireless system.
                Thanks,
                Emil
