    HIPAA compliant external storage

Hey guys, does anyone know of a product that fulfills the following:

Encryptable, external drive up to 6 TB? We tried a Drobo but the RAID solution they use causes data loss when we've tried to encrypt. Still looking in to it, but I think that a mirrored or striped external should be fine. Figured I'd ask to see if any of you had a recommendation.

Looking at this guy right now, but haven't used any Buffalo products:

You might as well go with a Synology NAS, excellent quality and support.
For encryption, you can use Symantec Desktop Encryption (paid) or if you want a free package - use TrueCrypt.

Synology is pretty solid and uber cheap for the money.

How did you encrypt the data on the Drobo and what caused the data loss? If you connect it via iSCSI and encrypt the entire drive with TrueCrypt, you shouldn't have any issues...
