    iTunes Help

So, am I having a brain fart or what?

I downloaded a couple of audiobooks from the iTunes Store onto my computer. I now what to put them on my phone and/or iPad but can't figure it out.

I think I've done it before, but it's all a haze now.

What do I need to do?

Pretty sure if you use your apple ID on your phone, it will automatically download all purchases from the iTunes store. I think you can have 5 "authorized" computers for one apple ID.

If its the same apple ID on your computer that's on your phone or iPad then you can either re-download it again on the device you want that audiobook on or you can connect the device to the computer using the USB cable and open iTunes and drag it it over.

I've done this a bit and always have to look it up. Apple makes it a PITA so you buy the pre-made ringtone.

        Here's a link to the discussion;
Security verification page to protect against malicious bots.

        1. Find the song you want and note the start/stop time you want the ring tone.
        2. Right click - get info, click the Options tab and set the start/stop times as above.
        3. Right click - Create AAC version. This creates a new file.
        4. Drag this new file from the iTunes window to the desktop.
        5. Delete the file from iTunes and also select Delete from hard drive.
        6. On the desktop, rename the file whateveryouwant.m4r (first part you can change to whatever you want & change the extension to .m4r).
        7. Drag the file back to the iTunes library at top left.
Make sure iTunes prefs > General has Tones ticked.

            But

ITUNES is to music as California is to the 2nd amendment.

After I played around with it and got to the proper screen, this is what I ended up doing. /\

              Thx all.
