Time to retire and buy a new computer.

So I think I may have to bite the bullet and buy a new computer. My poor little guy is already maxed out to the point of if I want to get better specs, I will have to drop 300 bucks on a newer bigger PSU. I would rather just save a little more and buy a newer desktop. Now my problem is this. I game. I play BC2 and Counter Strike, but I would like to start playing BF3 and a few other demanding games on my home unit instead of borrowing a friends. What should I be looking for? I really don't want to build my own as I do not have the time nor, real interest in it. I would be open to a laptop as well if it can handle the gaming.

So in short, computer is outdated and slow. I wanna play BF3. How much is this going to cost, and where should I start looking?

Currently, I have a EVGA 9500GT with an internal 1gb ram on the card. I also have 3.1 gigs of RAM available in my computer (I have 4 gb installed). Would it be wise to buy a PSU, max out my ram to 8gb and buy this card? All together, it would cost me around 300-350 dollars.

First we need specs of what you have now. At the very least, which cpu and how much memory do you have? If you have a computer made in the last few years the chances are you're using ddr3 memory which is fairly inexpensive, and a new cpu may or may not be required.

The 560 isn't a band card, but if I were you I'd go for at least a 660. Newer technology, cooler running and it uses less power.

Are you running a 64 bit OS? Hopefully Win7? If so, you may find it much more cost effective to max RAM, buy new video card, and PSU. Wring all the life you can out of a system in this economy! Buy your parts from newegg.com!
