    Gmail Spam

Does anyone else get a lot of spam on their Gmail account? Granted, 99.9% of it goes to the spam folder, but I'm amazed by how much I get. I dumped my spam folder about a week and a half ago and I already have over 900 spam messages. I again dumped it about 20 minutes ago and now I have five already.

Granted, very little gets past the spam trap and almost no legit mail goes to the spam trap, but it just seems like a lot of spam. Why so much...just from companies selling email addresses, etc? Does Gmail have this issue more than anyone else?

Wow, I get practically zero. I've been much more careful about where I share my g-mail address. My other free account that I've had for MUCH longer and used on certain job assistance websites years ago when I was unemployed for a while - that one gets a lot of spam. But, not as much as you are reporting.
CalGuns Network (CGN) is different from CalGuns Foundation (CGF). Both need our support. I have gold name because I support CGN; plus, I send $10 every two weeks to CGF automatically via online BillPay as described here.

Support CGF by shopping at Amazon!

I do get some into the Spam folder but it's usually from the same company trying to sell seafood. Then there's the company with all middle eastern writing so I have no idea what they're all about. I just keep deleting... no problem.

THEN there are things that get through. Sender is from an legit friend and email address OR legit friend with same name but different ISP. Those emails usually want you to click on a link. I usually catch these since it's not in the usual format my friends send me messages.

Just be alert. If you're not sure of a message and you "know the sender" send them a new massage if they really sent _________ message.

I generally get about 20-30 per day in my gmail, but then I've also got Harbor Freight, Newsmax, Monster.com, Newegg and several other places flagged as spam, but not unsubscribed, because I still want to be able to take a peek and see what I've gotten from them.
