install another bluetooth s/w stack over current

so i had this issue in this thread here where i tried to use my plantronics voyager pro + with my new laptop. previous laptop and same OS but i installed bluetooth soleil s/w stack, it worked w/o lync always telling me "mute enabled" after 5-10 seconds w/in a lync call. the previous laptop didn't have the drivers for voice like a2dp hence i put bluetooth soleil drivers. lync also doesn't have that mute announcement and neither does the headset, but i never found where it comes from even aftger some posts on plantronics forum, call plantonics and ms technet.

fast forward, i managed to make it work with a motorola but it's has some static (no matter where i am). fast forward more, i found my unopened asus bluetooth dongle and installed it along with it's drivers. i deactivated the bluetooth device and even uninstalled the drivers (broadcomm) but the darn thing keeps coming back. it wrecks havoc on my bluetooth devices primarily the mouse where it's not recognized and i always have to re-pair.

has anyone successfully installed a different bluetooth stack over the current ones that come with laptop? broadcomm won't update because it recognizes it's oem so it keeps on referring me to the mfr website, and i arleady have the latest set. also, when i pull the asus dongle off and reboot, the drivers don't seem to be effective and if any, my plantronics voyager pro + won't even connect voice now to the laptop. no biggie.. never really worked well anyway.

trying to find another alternative before i plunk for yet another bluetooth headset and this time the voyager pro uc b230-m

I had some tricky things happen with a Dell bluetooth dongle, and it turned out that one of the driver updates that I skipped contained a firmware update and of course the newer drivers omitted this and supposedly ran fine without it. Perhaps a firmware upgrade is in order?

did that arleady from the oem mfr. oddly, broadcomm doesnt like you updating from their site if it's an oem product. for ex., if the driver and h/w were in a lenovo laptop, broadcomm won't update it from their site. they want you to update it from lenovo's site.

it's new and i'm on the latest already.

oh well, guess another freaking bluetooth headpeice to buy. at this rate, i think i have one for each day of the work week already. LOL (some suck though that i don't use anymore, like a jabra prime).
