Macs only since 2001. I have windows 7 on my Mac Pro, but it never gets used.

Macs for work, none of my coworkers use a PC.

PC only. No Mac, because I don't have the need to fit in.

That's like saying you use Windows because you don't have the need to fit in.

Or like saying you use Linux because you don't have the need to fit in.

But if you said you use FreeBSD because you don't have the need to fit in, I would totally respect that and engage you in long conversations about optimizing the FreeBSD kernel and network drivers for 10GB network traffic analysis.

It's just my vote, because it seems the only people to bring up "Mac vs PC" subjects are the Mac users. It's as if they have something to prove.

Open Source is great up until the point the developers realize they want money.

Then people hate us for charging for stuff.

PC/IBM. You've always been able to take apart and fix, or assemble, your own PC. Even some of the first computers I've had were like that. IBM 286's and the like. A friend of my parents was a computer nut. Wrote software, was constantly building or rebuilding different computers, had components galore. He help me put together all my first computers. We had Apple IIe's at elementary school, and later Mac's, and you couldn't do with them what you could with the PC. No one was tearing apart Apple computers and building something new.

I had a lot of fun with computers when I was a kid. We used to do stuff like notch the back side of a 5 1/4 floppy so we could write stuff like nudey ascii art and pass to friends as school. Teachers didn't know about the back side of a disc. Or trying to hack our stats in Wizardry V. Good times.

I was all into building my own computers back in college. I used to go to the computer show every month for new gear. My friends and I would build new boxes or upgrade our stuff constantly. It was all about getting fast frame rates in Quake and Half-Life.

But when I left college, and started working, I cared a lot less about building computers and only did it for friends when they asked me to. Now, I just buy computers to get work done, not for tinkering with hardware.

Now when it comes to 'tinkering', it's not about building your own computers. The younger generation is now all about building their own software and applications (e.g. mobile apps, web apps, plugins, widgets, etc).

Mac at home and work: I work for Apple

Started out on Macs till I was around 11. Then only used and worked on PC's till I was about 26, then hired by Apple and haven't purchased anything besides a Mac since.

                          Massive logic fail.

If you are trying to fit in, wouldn't you choose the computer OS family that more people use? So, I'm all set on logic. How about you?
