by stalling out i meant that the system was locking up and not allowing any inputs without restarting first, every time i tried to get into the logs to look for errors it would stall out on me and i'd be stuck again... so i made another partition in my un-allocated space on my HD and loaded up Windows XP 64 bit and everything was checking out fine (cpu, board, and blue ray drives and all..)

my solution in the end so far has been to wipe the drive and go with Ubuntu for now until windows makes something worthy of looking at or i get another copy of Win. 7...

i pretty much just play around on Fruityloops making beats and do homework on it and have a laptop as backup for now, but im starting to think the new Windows is just a C&A9 shoot and will probably in the end just run dual OS (Ubuntu/Win.7)

Nvidia is pretty infamous for their crappy LINUX drivers. Google Linus Torvalds' rant about them as being the worst company he's ever had to deal with.

That means all LINUX distros are probably going to get roughly the same crappy results with your NVidia card. I say "probably" because I've had some luck with certain models of NVidia cards over the years.
