Some websites not displaying - WTH?

Recently my browser isn't displaying some websites. Oddly they don't display in firefox, chrome, or IE.

Two of the sites are www.chase.com and https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2012TZSSurvey

Any idea how I can get them to show up?

    I've cleared the caches etc.

    Thanks.

      Don't know.

Chase shows up...but very slow, about 15 seconds.
Not clicking on that second link.

Cleared all the caches, ran ccleaner a few times - everything showed up once or twice, but now those two sites aren't displaying again. And now Amazon also doesn't show up. They're both secure sites, but I checked other secure sites and they work fine. Since this is a problem on all 3 browsers I'm thinking that this is a win7 issue.

My wife's macbook can access the sites, so it's probably not our router. When I ping it from cmd prompt it times out. Where should I be looking to fix this?

        Thanks

I would check your hosts file first, but it would be odd for random things to get put in there without a virus/spyware.

          c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

try ipconfig/flushdns from a cmd prompt.

            Checked host file - nothing.

Ran the ipconfig cmd, it replies a successful flush, but nno change in lack of chase.com.

            Very frustrating!

Maybe an issue with the version of Flash or Java you have installed?
EDIT: it sounds like you know more about computers than I do, don't mind me

Not a Win7 issue. I can access those sites just fine on Win7 Pro.

When you ping the sites, is it showing the same IP address from your wife's Mac as from your Win7 box?

on a CMD window, try the TRACERT command:

                        TRACERT <ip address | conanical name>

it will then show your the route of the packet from your home machine to the destination.
                        '
if you have issues, it will fail immediately or somewhere in the middle with something like "HOST UNREACHABLE"...
