World of Tanks

Can you unlock everything by only using little tanks? Or do you have to buy the next tank up to unlock the add ons?

Really liking this game...when I get a chance to play.

And what are the boss tanks? I am going for the Hetzer and T-34 because, from what I know, these were really good in their time.

you can save up free XP, which you dont get very much of each round and use that to purchase upgrades for tanks and unlock new tanks. Not a wise way to do it since it takes a looot of play to build up free xp to use on other tanks. Especailly when it starts taking 40,000xp to unlock something. The pershing im working on is 98,000xp...the Tiger 2 78,000xp
Hetzer isnt great. stug rules. t34 rules t34-85 isnt very good in my opinion.

it all comes down to how you play i like german tanks more, have the D.Max, Stug, JgPzr4, Tiger, VK3601H. They fit my style of play better. they usauly have more accurate guns so i stay back and pluck away at them from range. But im taking a stab at the russian Td's and heavies now, which is the only reason i went hte t34-85 was tog et the IS and push through to the t54.

My ultimate fav tank was the M4A3E8, with the gun rammer, vert stabalizer, and coated optics. could run circles around heavies just shooting their side and rear armor.

throw out notions of what tanks were great from historical standpoint cause it won't mean diddly squat.

since there are so many prototype tanks out there, it is best to just find a tank that fits your play style and go from there. check the forums for info on tanks.

I like Arty, but the exp grind is brutal. I am currently grinding my S-51 up to the next. Also I am a big fan of two tanks with big inaccurate howitzer type guns. The Russian KV-1 with the 152. and the American M4 with the 105mm. Those two tanks are just fun on the city maps. Pop around the corner and one shot people with point blank shots. They definitely take a very unique playstyle though. The french has some really nice fast tanks. I am also working up the 1375-1390->batchat line. The Batchat is amazing from what I have seen of it in fights.

Its not too bad to get Tier 6 vehicles. Its a lot of grinding past that, especially if you don't pay and get premium. For me the reason I really like it is you can play for 20 mins and then walk away if you want. its not like other games where you have to setup for longer playtimes.

Join a clan and platoon with people and use voicechat. It makes a HUGE difference and at least you can expect there are three people on your team that won't play like idiots.

My 4 year old loves it.

He comes and tells me he wants to "drive trucks"

I just started explaining that these are special kinds of trucks called tanks.

At least he knows you only pow the red ones and not the green ones. Sometime he actually launches the game and logs in and gets me into a match. I walk into the room and see the game running and my turrets pointed up into the sky. No wonder my stats are so bad.......

Not quite on topic but I'm sure that most of you won't mind. I was at the June E3 show in LA and took a few pics of the ladies manning the World of Tanks booth. Both the booth and the beautiful ladies were impressive.
