    Any experts on SIP/VOIP here?

I want to set up a few SIP accounts and run VIOP with local numbers so the relatives can call each other free. Im going to ship the voip box overseas that contains a local number here registered with sip.

Can anyone recommend a few good SIP providers and a few good VIOP devices that have NO monthly fee?

Any other info I might need please feel free to share......

I read that google talk or something was working with SIP, but I know little about it, but it might still work:
Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

Vonage. My current employer use it. You can choose to either send the Vonage phone adapter (the box that connects to internet and a regular phone), or you can also add a Vonage Softphone so that you don't need to send the box and your relatives can call using the Softphone (via a Windows computer).

However, like all good things in life, it is not free.

Another choice would be Skpe, the VoIP part is free and you can buy those phone devices that have Skype software built-in.

I've gotten good results with the Obi products and Google Voice.

Setup is pretty painless and as long as you have the bandwidth it works fine.
