    CDA, MP3 Audio Questions

I am burning a CD and have music tracks on the computer that are MP3 and also some tracks on a CD that are in Cda format. I moved the Cda tracks to the hard drive as I want to burn some of those and a few MP3 tracks to a CD. The CDa files won't play in Media Player. Can I convert them to MP3?

Also, will a CD player in a 2001 Mazda play MP3 files, Cda, or...? Don't want to burn a disc that won't play.

    Thanks.

The CDA file contains only information about the music file on the CD, not the actual music itself. So if you copied it from your CD-ROM to your HDD, it will no play. What you need to do, is to "rip" directly from CD to your HDD as MP3 files using a variety of tools (Windows Media Player does this too).

CD players that support MP3 format will usually have the label "MP3" stamped close to its loading tray or controls. If you don't see it, chances are that it does not support the MP3 format.
