I found some old original Xbox console games with 2-month scratch-off XBL coupons. Can I redeem the codes for usage on my current Xbox 360 XBL gold account?

I'd be very careful about letting ANY Microsoft points remain unused for very long. My account got hacked in the FIFA soccer debacle (that Microsoft still won't admit to having happened).
My account was drained of XBox points, and upon investigation they were returned. However, no one bothered to tell me that they were "special promotional points" that expired in a month. I only noticed once they again vanished.
Microsoft and Xbox just said, "hey, that's how we do it". I will never spend another cent on XBox Live, and am seriously considering dropping the console when the next gen launches.
Learning point-use ANY Microsoft points IMMEDIATELY or don't buy them. IF your account is hacked due to Microsoft's vulnerability, your points will be returned but only as a coupon that expires.
