    uverse or dial up?

Ok I've had dial up for ever and im tired of it and I hate it. They wont let me get DSL or anything decent I could've gottan satellite but I want to be able to game. Called today and they said uverse internet was available and said I can game on it.

So I orderd it and I will get it in a couple of days. Does anybody have it? Can you game on it? I got the 3mb plan-the only one available -

I know it will be a lot better then dial up I can hardly even come on this site on dial up.

    Thanks if anyone replies

My brother in law has it and is pretty pleased. And yes, you can use it to play online games. The technology involved is pretty interesting, a new forma of DSL (ADSL2+ / VDSL) connecting you to a fiber optics backbone.

i think there is some hanky panky going on at att

i think they are purposely limiting dsl since it lets other providers use thier lines to give service

i started with att dsl then i switched to dsl extreme but not after battles with att claiming i was in a uverse area and unable to switch but i was billed for dsl so eventually they relented

i expect eventually their will be a classaction when some lawyers find out

cabletv modems are amazingly fast but i like my directv so i dont want to have to bundle

I have Uverse, it's supposedly 3MBit, but DSL runs 100 yards to optical link and then to CO.

I'm not a gamer, but my son is, and he only complains when he's fouled up something so things are slow on his PS3/PC.

          I like DSL a lot.

          .

Dial up--like a modem? That still exists? Last time I used dial up was sometime last millenium. Yeah, I'd upgrade.

Some folks in rural areas still dial up. I know, seems hard to believe, but is true.

Like I said I live up a mile private driveway. I hate dial up. I just hope my Xbox and ps3 aren't going to waste anymore. I will get it the 20th and let you guys know how I like it.

There is some hanky panky going on and it happens with verizon as well. Also, when you switch you are unable to go back to dsl. They mark you house as serviced by the new stuff and wont let you go pack.

U verse is hit or miss. If it is a newer plant, then it works great. But if you live in an older area prepare for problems. WHere I work they always are having issues in the woodcrest/ perris/ riverside area by El sobrante and Cajalco.

I have Uverse and it sucks, switching back to Comcast in a few weeks when I move. You'd be much better off getting cable if you have that option.

They would make me pay 2 grand to run the lines. I can't even get cable tv
