Did you have an AT&T nano SIM to test with in the Verizon iPhone 5? Or did you cut one down to shape?
From what I've read, you can't cut down a T-Mobile standard or micro SIM card and have it work properly in an iPhone 5. Has this been dis-proven yet?Comment

I cut mine down.
RedmondPie says you can cut down a normal sim. I cut a micro to a nano. I didnt use that guide, I just lined up the iPhone 5 sim with my AT&T sim and started to hack away.
The iPhone 5 is a very noticeable 18% slimmer than the 4S. In order to reduce thickness, Apple had to completely overhaul previously used technology – like replacing the 30-pin connector with the new Lightning connector – or further reduce size of existing components, something you’ll notice when you realize that your shiny new iPhone doesn’t have enough room for your standard SIM or Micro SIM card; the iPhone 5 uses an even smaller Nano SIM card.- MComment
