Planning on getting two if the new one is worth it. Girlfriends 3GS is falling apart (volume toggle came off and she's gunked up the speakers) and i'm scheduled for contract renewal anyway.

Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Apparently I would lose my unlimited data plan if I "upgrade" to the the newer iPhone at the reduced cost.
That's a bummer because that'll mean I have to fork out full retail price to keep my data plan.

gna take a look at it..out of contract w\att so thinkn about sprint\unlimited plan.
i need to research but i believe sprint has best unimited plan w\o "throttling" but sacrfice areas f signal....

Really? I've kept mine over the last two upgrades, blackberry to 3gs to 4s. My wife is to upgrade to the 5, would hate to lose her unlimited

Not sure if you mean verizon or at&t, but at&t let me keep my unlimited data when I switched from a 3gs to an android phone.
