    DVR and Tivo

I'm thinking of getting either the DVR from Comcast, or buy a TiVo. Does anyone here have recommendations on which way to go? Is the Comcast provided DVR better or is buying a TiVo (from either TiVo online shop or BestBuy) a better choice?

    Thanks.

It really depends on what features you want to use and what fits for you. TiVo offers many different options like the ability to do Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Pandora. They do cost extra and so does the TiVo service on top of the price of the box itself. You also have to get a Cable card to use with the TiVo so it will work with your cable service.

If you want all the bells and whistles go with the TiVo, their biggest selling point is their interface which is friendly and easy to use, which is what they are known for. But if your just looking for a simple DVR the Comcast DVR is the way to go.

I myself cut cable and tivo awhile ago and just download shows. The only problem is that new and sports aren't available usually.

Much depends on your video source. If you have to use a content provider's decoder box to access the content, then it complicates things in figuring out how to integrate your TIVO. I love my TIVO but it is connected directly to the source of the video signals.
