    Galaxy SIII and Nexus

So just ordered a Galaxy SIII for me and a Nexus for the wife. So tired of the old EVO 4g thats 2 and a half years old now. Vibration is going dead, and things are flat cutting out for ringing. Can't wait to get the new Galaxy, and gonna see if its all people are saying it is. 1.5ghz processor and 2gb of ram can't be bad and includes 16gigs of internal memory with 32gb memory card expandable. I wasn't going to fork over another benjamin for 16 more gigs of internal storage.

Anyone here own either of the phones at all? I couldn't believe the prices around here locally and then going on amazon things turned out MUCH better. It went from starting at $199 for a new phone plus tax on $699 plus fees and things like that. Then amazon had one for $149 no extras, no shipping, no tax, no hidden fees or otherwise. I also get $52.00 for trade-in on my current phone making it $98 OTD. My wife's Nexus was only $49 but we're going to save her phone as a backup just in case.

I have the nexus, came from the galaxy s ii. I love this phone. I bought the international version, rooted it and now get my updates directly from Google. I haven't run out of space on it yet (16GB model), but 90% of my music is in the cloud.

You can buy it direct from Google if you have a gsm provider.

I have the Nexus and the wife have the Galaxy SIII. Both phones are very nice.
The only complaint is short battery life.

Which one do you have? I know the Verizon model is supposed to have a worse battery life. I get a full day out of mine. Gsm using t mobile

My S3 complaints are substantial in my book. Bad (really bad) reception compared to my old DroidX [Verizon], and it has issues sync'ing with computers and doesn't show up at all on a mac. That makes transferring over music and photos a real pain in the keester. I'm not terribly thrilled with the phone.

Maybe a dumb question, but how do you get your music uploaded in the cloud? I think I would like to do that, but not really sure how to proceed with that. Is it a carrier specific thing like sprint, verizon, t-mobile etc, or is it something else. I'm really behind on the technology with comps and phones right now and am trying to catch up a bit.

Also, for the battery life comments, I got a 4300 mAH battery for my phone and I'm going to see how my wife's nexus does for battery life. If it dies soon, I'm going to get her a 4k plus mAH battery. (They make a 10,000 mAH battery for it which is pretty ridiculous IMO, but it should last a week straight flat out abusing it.)

I use google music for my music.

As for battery life, Juice Defender helps.

Love my S3, came from a 3gs. Never going back to iOS.

So google music puts your existing music in the cloud. What if my music is stored in Itunes right now and I want to put it all in the cloud but want to use it on my android phone, (GSIII) Is that a possibility? I know the two formats don't play well with each other.

I've got about 2 weeks on a VzW Galaxy S3. WOW. This phone is way awesome. Battery life does suck though. I'm thinking of getting an extended life batt. Also, supposedly next month Samsung is finally releasing the inductive charging cover. Not super critical for the phone to function, but it's a cool gadget that I like.

On amazon, a 4300 mAH battery is only about $21.XX and if you get the cover with it, shipping is free on it. That will last a solid 2-3 days of hard use on that phone. I have a 3500 mAH battery on my EVO at a 4.3" screen and it lasts 3 days of using it constantly. The extended batteries are dirt cheap, and don't even bother with an extended battery cover. They aren't very good.

Here ya go, 4200 mAH for $16.99 including the battery back. Great reviews too.

Here is a cover for it making it $26.XX and free shipping for battery, rear cover, and rubber case. Great setup if you ask me.

depending on how the music got in iTunes you might have to pay then to make it drm free. If you download the Google music manager it will find your music and upload it to the cloud.

I've got the Verizon Nexus running Jelly Bean. Runs super smooth. For the battery life issues, I just bought a spare. I don't like the bulky extended batteries.
