    Any Android Gurus? Please Help!!!

    Ok long story short:

I broke my Sprint Samsung Galaxy SII Epic touch screen yesterday. It still receives voice/txt and data. But the screen is completely locked and the touch function is FUBAR.

Sprint is sending me a new one tomorrow (yay!). However there is some recent data on my phone that I would love to collect and backup to transfer to the new phone.

I have tried the Kies software tool on my pc. But when I connect the phone it asks me to unlock the phone. But I can't because the screen is black and touch is defective.

I have also tried the Android SDK, PC android emulator. But in order for my phone to work with SDK or driodAtScreen. My settings need to be set for "Enable Debugging via USB". Well I can't get to the settings for the reasons listed above.

Anybody have other tricks or tools? Is there a way to make a %100 image of my Droid phone and install it in my new one tomorrow without any serious damages or system corruption? Or without having to use the phone touch function?

    Thanks!

Do you have a OTG USB adapter and use letters/numbers for your password? If you do, you would be able to use a USB keyboard to enter your password. I just tested this on my Samsung Galaxy SIII and was able to unlock my phone without using the touch screen.

Link to OTG USB cable, http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...ywords=usb+otg

You probably need to do a ClockwordMod flash, then boot into recovery mode. That is a lower-level startup mode that will allow a nandroid backup to be done to an SD card.

              1: See this How to:

How to Root and Flash ClockworkMod Recovery on the Bell Galaxy S II HD LTE (SGH-I757M) | The Galaxy S II HD LTE is a slightly tweaked version of the famed Galaxy S II and hence, requires a different approach when rooting the device.  This post

If you have any capability of seeing the screen, you're in. Do NOT use the touch version of clockword mod, use the older "key" version that uses the hard keys to scroll and select.

Install CWM from a flash NOT FROM THE ROM MANAGER!!!! It's a quick way to brick a phone.

You should also be running it rooted. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, the Android phones are basically small Linux computers with an OS shell that makes it a phone. "Rooting" is allowing root level access to the phone, which is an old Unix term for the highest level administrative priveleges on the base machine.

Once you get that done, you might try running a better ROM than the stock phone comes with. They always load them up with bloatware and crap you really can live without. The bacon on a CyanogenMod is sweet. I'm running a T-Mobile LG G2X with CM9 Paranoid (Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich) and the my phone has face recognition unluck on it, the high density Googole apps so less screen area is taken up by system tray icons and I get a tighter text block, and more advanced features. You might lose the Samsung voice control, but I've heard tell some guys got it working again even with a CM7.2 or a CM9 build.

Also, start checking out this forum for Android advice:

These guys are the ones who write the base code itself and REALLY understand the 1's and 0's of Android.
