New Counterstrike game coming out in August?

Is it worth $15? I think this seems like a cool idea, $15 game that you just download. I also worry that they didn't put too much time or effort into it if they can sell it so cheap. Help me out here guys, I rarely buy video games and want some input.

Counterstrike has always been decent for what it is. It is only $15, just buy it and give it a try. Not like it is a $60 game.

Counter-strike started out as a mod to the game Half-Life which was released back in 1998 and continued with the Half-Life 2 engine. It's been out for quite some time to say the least and holds a little nostalgia for me since I first played beta 3.0 back in '99. The graphic engine isn't the latest therefore the hardware requirements shouldn't be too high. If you buy it write a review as I'm curious about it.

I played this at E3 and it's a must buy if your a fan of the old games. It's cheaper because it doesn't have any single player and valve tries to take care of their fans.

Yeah, it's worth it. I'm in the beta and enjoy it. It seems like a good mix of 1.6 and Source. A lot of the little changes were for the e-sports side of things. Still a great pick up and play anytime fps. Better than Call of Duty imo.

Original CS was a blast. I started @ 1.3 (late I know...) and that’s what really got me into gaming, moding, and LAN events. I bought half life just for CS.

With the release of STEAM (and WOW) CS took a huge dive, both quality wise and in its following, and I doubt if it will ever live up to what it was. Times have just changed

If you do get it and have a positive experience I would love to hear about it, either way $15 is pretty decent for game these days.

I've played the beta at work a handful of times. I thought it was pretty solid/enjoyable. Definitely worth $15. They also just released a huge update the other day that updated a ton of stuff, most of which was based on feedback from beta participants, which is nice to see. If you're a diehard 1.6 fan, you'll probably complain like the rest of them about how it's not "the same." Just my 2 cents.

I already bought the xbox live membership for this game (CS:GO). I have my xbox 360 for 2 years and never bought the membership. But for this one, i will spend for the membership and planning to buy the ms points next week (1600). I heard somewhere that this will cost $15 or 1200 ms points.

I think this is the best first person shooter game, and if you pre order it from steam before the Aug. 21 release date its on sale for $13.49 which is an awesome deal.

Counterstrike was good when it was beta. When they went 1.0 and retail they screwed it up. It's been going downhill ever since.
