    My complaints with iTunes beyond the proprietary nature, is the overwhelming attempt guess what / how I want to interact with it. I prefer neutral interfaces that react instead of proactively attempt to solve problems I didn't have until their interface prompts created them.
    This is why I don't have any Apple hardware that doesn't run Linux as the native OS (non-VM). Everything Apple makes has been a bit... Russian, and illogical to me.

    (One button, and a soft-back button that is in an inconstant place makes iPhruity devices unusable for me. Just hit the button 2x they said, see the world... they said.)

      i dispute this to some measure. I really like their gesture"s" interface via the track pad as a quality, intuitive, natural experience.

      iTunes is just hell on a deep fried stick.
