About 1 year after I bought my netbook the battery charger started to go down hill very fast. Eventually it would only hold a few minutes of charge and I basically only used it plugged into the wall. Now after doing that for almost a year, my battery now charges to 97% and it's like a brand new battery! Wha happened?

Do you always have if computer plugged in? If so that killed you battery, from what I was told by apple is to let it completely die and then charge it and then let it die and so on, your battery got used to being charged so when it wasn't anymore it would die really quickOriginally posted by bruceflinchTis Better, to be Overworked & Underpaid,

Yup, leaving it always plugged in killed the battery. I never got around to buying another battery. For about a year I always plugged it in because the battery wouldn't hold any charge. Now the same original battery miraculously will charge almost fully.Do you always have if computer plugged in? I thought if you let it fully die you it will never regain its full battery life.Do you always have if computer plugged in? But then why would a company that you cannot change the battery out of the phone lie?

my old laptop (core2duo) did that after running plugged in for a couple years... one day it booted and ran for 1.5 hours without the powersupply on. I think it has to do with the hardware monitoring software recalibrating. It could never fully boot from the battery. ymmvComment

I can charge it up to 96% according to the meter. I am able to watch more than four hours of streaming video without it plugged in. A couple of months ago it wouldn't last 10 minutes unplugged."The only right more important than gun rights to cgn members is the right to be a drama queen..." jimxComment

There's a difference between the battery "dieing" because it's too low to power whatever, and it dieing and not being recharged, draining every bit of power out of it.
Example: If you have a dead car battery and let it sit without recharging it for some time, it'll be useless. However, if you begin to recharge it soon after, all is well.
