And said hello to the ted kaczynski lifestyle? I guarantee I can find articles that destroy the security of any piece of technology you use.

I've rooted and rom'd every phone I've owned. It's incredibly easy to do and impossible to brick if you follow the guide. Some phones cannot be bricked no matter what you do. There are workarounds even if you flash a different providers radio.

I'm on my 5th G2X right now, and returning No. 5. Complete piece of junk. I'm still pissed the big players are moving away from SD cards so they can monetize airtime and downloads.....

I have no doubt that you can, no technology is hack proof no matter what anyone claims.

My main gripe with Android was I tried two different phones, the Droid Incredible and the Droid X, and they both had the same restarting issues. They would both restart daily, sometimes twice a day, and it was extremely frustrating. I tried everything that was suggested like reinstalling the os, reinstalling after formatting the memory card, and nothing worked.

When I buy a phone I want it to be a phone first and computer second. If the phone can't stay on without restarting while I am on a phone call then it is not going to work for me. Installing custom roms doesn't matter to me when I buy a phone brand new and I have to wait for someone to crack them because the boot loader is locked. Then once it is unlocked I have to wait for a stable version of the ROM.....no thanks.

Now with that said, I am not brand loyal and would consider going back to android or even windows if I knew I wasn't going to have the same issues.
