Android or iPhone When Synching w/Outlook?

I have an AT&T version of the Android Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate). I admit I am not techno-wiz at this stuff, but from what I can tell, this phone just sucks at being able to sync my Outlook 2010 contacts, calendars, and e-mails. It seems like Google wants me to use all their apps to do this. Not doing that! I se Comcast e-mail and need to access it from both the phone and at home. I heard I need to change the Comcast e-mail to IMAP from POP, but can't do that, since it is greyed out.

Is the iPhone any better or am I going to have use something propietary from Apple and be in the same boat? Right now, I just hate Android, but fear I may end up hating the iPhone just as much.

Every time my iPhone and Android (current phone) wouldn't sync up to an email address i was entering the wrong info. Thats probably your problem.

My suggestion is to get a Gmail address (free) and set up your Comcast account to forward emails to your Gmail acct. Its not tough to do and all phones sync up to Gmail easily. Also if you end up switching from Comcast to another provider your email address wont change too.

I use CompanionLink to sync Outlook's contacts, calendar, and tasks with Gmail and then let android sync with Gmail. It's simpler than it sounds. It's not cheap but there is a 14 day free trial.

Sync Contacts, Calendar, Tasks & Notes between Outlook, Google, Android and iPhone. USB, Wi-Fi or private cloud. DejaOffice PC CRM included. Free 14-day trial.
