    Happy World IPv6 Launch Day!

Today is the day that IPv6 has finally gone live for good!

And yet with NAT and the push to be able to sell blocks of IPv4 on the private market, it still will remain just an additional standard and not THE standard for some time.

It takes time to switch everything over. Today just makes it possible for everyone to do just that.

Security companies are not recommending people to turn it on in their firewalls just yet because many security scanning software products don't look for traffic on IPv6. The point is, IPv4 is kind of like oil. With no incentive to stop using it, people will keep using it for a long while.

They're just fear mongering. Viruses/malware will still be picked up by your virus and malware scanners.
