I bought one for my 6 year old niece. Its only good for YouTube and kids games which is what she only uses. I update it to some custom android firmware. I forgot what it was. It was some time ago, and it speed it up a lot.

I'd be interested in finding any updated operating system if you could find it.

I could have told you that without ever looking at the thing. A $50 tablet is going to have a resistive touch screen (the old kind you use a stylus with) and lame specs. You need to spend $200+ if you want a usable tablet and $300+ if you want a decent one.

          $135 refurbished Nook Color

          $34.99 Nook2Android Card

That's quite a bit less than $200, and it's WAY more than just "usable."

I've worked out the kinks. I use it as a reader (color) it plays most of my videos, and it streams from you tube. It has a battery life of at least 8-9 hours which is better than the 3 for my nook.

OK spill the beans, you said don't buy one and that you might send it back. What kinks did you work out? For $50 with 9hr of battery life ......
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

I had one... for about a week. Granted the battery life was pretty impressive, and it actually does have a capacitive touch screen, but it was sooooooooooooooooo slow it was unbearable to use.

I returned it and bought a nook color. I rooted the nook color, installed cyanogenmod, overclocked it to 1.2GHz, and now that thing runs like a dream.

That cruz tablet is just garbage. I wouldn't even call it a tablet, it's just an ereader with a color screen. That's about all it can do.

Best tablet? Look up HP touch pad. It runs webos stock, but installing Android (cyanogenmod 9) is a breeze. Look up the specs, it is fantastic for the money.

Possibly, it's the 32GB version and has all the HP accessories.

It was mostly factory settings. Would not show pictures on web sites. I bought a 32 G SD card and filled it with books and movies. $50 for a color reader and YouTube player. It's not the best but I'm cheap and can wait a few for download

Nothing special I'm still waiting for the down load operating system that make this great!!!
