My Chrome is effed up. When I start it all I get is a very narrow vertical band on the left of the screen. The "expand" arrows don't do anything. It's like there's a parameter set to max width. I can make it shorter or narrower, but not wider. It's only about as wide as the scrollbar. Tried rebooting, no change.

Is it possible to uninstall and re-install Chrome?
Tags: None -
To uninstall, Google's AI states...
To reinstall...To uninstall Google Chrome on Windows 10, close all Chrome windows, then go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps, find Google Chrome, click Uninstall, and follow the on-screen prompts. You can also use the Control Panel by typing "Control Panel" in the Start menu, selecting "Uninstall a program," finding Chrome, and clicking Uninstall.
Using Windows Settings- Find Chrome: In the "Apps & features" or "Installed apps" list, find and click on Google Chrome.
- Uninstall: Click the Uninstall button and follow the prompts to complete the removal process. You may be asked to confirm, so click Yes to allow it to make changes to your device.
- Close Chrome: Make sure all Chrome windows and tabs are closed on your computer.
- Open Settings: Click the Start button and select the Settings gear icon.
- Select Apps: Click on the Apps option.
Using the Control Panel- Open Start Menu: Click the Start button.
- Type Control Panel: Type "Control Panel" in the search bar.
- Open Control Panel: Select the Control Panel app from the results.
- Find Uninstall a Program: Under the "Programs" section, click on "Uninstall a program".
- Locate and Uninstall Chrome: Find Google Chrome in the list of installed programs, click on it once, and then click the Uninstall button.
- Confirm: Click Yes on the prompt to confirm and allow the app to make changes to your device.
Don't ask me if it works. I'm simply quoting instructions presented by Google's AI on Chrome and assuming you're using Windows 10. Also bear in mind that Chrome itself may not be the problem as Google's AI also says...To install Chrome on Windows 10, first open Microsoft Edge and go to the official Google Chrome download page by typing google.com/chrome into the address bar and pressing Enter. Then, click the Download Chrome button, and when the installation file (ChromeSetup.exe) downloads, open it. Follow any on-screen prompts, which may include a User Account Control message asking to allow the app to make changes. Once complete, Chrome will open automatically, and a shortcut will appear on your desktop.
Step-by-step Installation:- Click the Download Chrome button.
- The installation file (ChromeSetup.exe) will begin downloading to your computer.
- Once the download is complete, open the downloaded file by clicking on it.
- If a User Account Control prompt appears asking, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", select Yes.
- The installation process will begin automatically, downloading and installing Chrome to your computer.
- A Chrome window will open to confirm the installation is complete, and a shortcut will be created on your desktop.
- Open Microsoft Edge: (or another web browser) already on your Windows 10 computer.
- In the address bar, type google.com/chrome and press Enter to navigate to the official Google Chrome download page.
Good luck.To resolve Chrome appearing as a narrow vertical band, you should exit full-screen mode by pressing F11 on Windows or Cmd + Ctrl + F on Mac, as this is a common cause for such display issues. If that doesn't work, you can try disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome's settings by going to chrome://settings/system and turning off the relevant option, or by going to Chrome's full-screen mode setting, which is in the Zoom options, to see if that helps.
1. Exit Full-Screen Mode- Press F11 (Windows): or Cmd + Ctrl + F (Mac) to toggle full-screen mode on and off. This is the most likely culprit for the browser taking up a very narrow part of the screen.
2. Check Chrome's Display Settings- Zoom: While in Chrome, click on the More icon (three vertical dots) in the top right.
- Next to "Zoom," check the zoom level and make sure it's not excessively zoomed out.
- Full-Screen Mode: You can also check if you're accidentally in a mode that mimics the appearance of full-screen mode by going into the three dots menu and then checking the zoom options.
3. Disable Hardware Acceleration- Open Chrome settings by clicking the three vertical dots and selecting Settings.
- In the search bar within the settings page, type "hardware".
- Find and disable the option "Use hardware acceleration when available".
- Relaunch Chrome to see if the issue is resolved.
4. Reset Chrome Settings- If the above steps don't work, try resetting Chrome to its original defaults.
- Go to Settings (three dots icon).
- In the search bar, type "reset".
- Click on "Restore settings to their original defaults" and then click "Reset settings".
- Restart Chrome to see if the problem is fixed.

Go to your settings menu and do a reset. No need to reinstall. There is no week nor day nor hour, when tyranny may not enter upon this country, if the people lose their supreme confidence in themselves -- and lose their roughness and spirit of defiance -- Tyranny may always enter -- there is no charm, no bar against it -- the only bar against it is a large resolute breed of men.
