    mouse (G9) replacement ?

ok so my G9 took a crap and started double clicking both right and left buttons and have had to return to my ole crappy mx510 standby

so looking for recommendations for a new mouse some things i am considering is ...
    • decent resolution
    • decent skates, slides, Teflon whatever they call them
    • "free spinning" center wheel(the G9 got me spoiled on this feature)
    • at least 2 side buttons
    • and possible wireless

i am not a big time gamer but do play the occasional FPS so dont need something over the top, just one that works well and has decent skates, slides, Teflon whatever they call them as i seem to wear the skates on most mice out in nothing flat ...lol

anywho what say ye ole CalGunners on a mouse recommendation ? ...

I have owned this mouse for a year and a half now and use it frequently. At first it was great, and now it's not doing so well. I have never dropped it, or abused it in any way. The clickwheel will not work when moving to the right anymore. As of recently dragging items or selecting things is a bit of a joke. I only want to move a file into a folder, and every time I do it drops it into another folder without me letting go click and drag is out of the question, sometimes it double clicks on its own, sometimes it stays clicked even after have taken my finger off which is only solved by moving the mouse. Either it is poor quality by design or has no durability if its broken. I intend to replace it with a different Logitech brand mouse. I even am having trouble editing this post because this mouse won't click! I've had it for about 6 months.

Why not just call Logitech and ask for a replacement because the switches have gone bad?

I did that with my G9, and they replaced it with a G9x. Then they did it with my G9x again after I called asking if they had replacement mouse-feet stickers(that was all I wanted, they decided to advance RMA me a replacement after I read them the number off the tag that's on the USB cable).

As far as replacement mice go, Logitech is the only company I've ever seen include the free spinning scroll wheel option.

i found the offending part that Logitech is using in there mice , this is from a fix for the same issue in the G7 and i think all the G series ...

this is the same swith used in the G9 and planning on giving this thread a try on fixing the mouse, if it doesnt work i will see if i can find a compatible switch in one of my cheap mice i have in a box for a replacement .....

lol i really didnt want to have to fix this thing but i will be damned if i pay another 60-150 for a mouse just to use the same faulty parts and wait for the next failure ...

pic from the thread on fixing the micro switch ...

So were mine. My harmony remote was also out of warranty(battery died, they sent me a brand new remote), and the subwoofer portion of my speaker set I used to have was out of warranty as well(Could have resoldered it myself, I was lazy). Unless they say "No" when you call, it doesn't hurt to ask. Just say it's not working, and why it's not working, let them bring up an RMA.

The new CM Storm Sentinel V2 is a traditional mouse thats better quality. Plus it has a built in OLED that you can put the calguns logo on it. It is also 8100 DPI so I highly recommend it.

I use a Logitech G700, I usually have 8 keystrokes programed to its buttons. I keep it plugged in instead of wireless, hate having batteries go low during a fight.

I've been using a Logitech Performance MX for 3 years and it's been a great mouse, no issues. It also uses the Darkfield technology and unifying receiver.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

My mother wore out a similar switch with Solitaire.

The flat bar on the switch was worn and so was the bar above (part of the button that presses on the switch's bar).

You would think that they would make better switches for that price...
