New to me, iMac pumping blank sheets from printer.

I recently acquired an iMac 21,1. It's the unit where everything is located in the monitor, no USB ports, etc. I'm a PC user and not familiar with Macs. I'm having several issues that I'm trying to address one at a time.

    Issue # 1: Printer.

The printer is recognized by the iMac which in another room (either Ethernet and/or Wi-fi) and it will connect and cycle the unit but no print on the paper. It's just spitting blank sheets of paper.

My PC prints okay to the same printer and same hookup so it's not an ink issue. The driver is up to date for the printer although the Epson printer is now discontinued.

Any ideas as to why or what I might do to get the unit to print?

    Thank you.

    Kyle

    From IMac Forum: (2015)
Try resetting the print system. Go to --> System Preferences --> Print & Fax. Then, on the left hand side in the white box, right click and hit "Reset Print System...". Report back with the results!

You absolute Godsend. THANK YOU!!! Been struggling with this for over 2 hours - using a ****/broken Mac and a cheap printer that has always struggled and I cannot believe I have actually managed to solve it at 3.45am. Would not have been able to do this without you haha!

Hey guys, Whenever I go to print off of my fairly new iMac, anything I print is blank. I've reinstated the drivers, and updated the OS and that didn't work. I bought a brand new printer, and it still prints blank pages. I was able to print a test page from the HP installer, but everything...

This Mac is running Sequoia 15.5 Unfortunately going to System Preferences Settings ----> Printers and Scanners----> Default Printer / Default Paper / Add / Remove Printer /Scanner / Fax

Right / Left clicking everything brings up nothing. On the left is a long skinny grey box with a list of all the system crap with "Printers and Scanners" at the very bottom. To the right is a larger box with the above bolded text. Right clicking to does nothing and left click brings up options adding hardware or deleting it.

I've been working on this since Saturday and about to get a tad frustrated. I am sincerely pleased that it worked for you Dan. I'm not ready to shoot it yet.

Thanks for the link it does give me another direction to search.

      Kyle

ETA: Doing a search for "Reset Printer" displays "NO RESULTS". Doing a search for "Reset" is also a no results.

To reset the printing system in Sequoia right click/control click on the printer in Printer & Scanners. The contextual menu should contain the option to Reset the print system.

You can reset the printing system on your Mac if you can’t print and no other troubleshooting technique solves the problem.

Well I got it to print finally got it lay down ink but don't ask what I did or didn't do because I haven't the foggiest. None of the utilities or scanner stuff are functional even with drivers. Having actual print is a step forward. Intuitive my behind!

I have an old brother multi function printer / scanner and the original driver doesn't support scanning on the newer mac OS so I went and purchased vuescan and that solved my scanning issue. I didn't want to spend several hundred $$$ on a new printer just to scan so bought the software instead about 3 years ago.
