I have an older Funai/Kodak Printer Verite 55 Plus. The ink cartridges are getting almost impossible to find. When you do find one, they are very expensive. I like the printer. It's very easy to use and has been 100 percent reliable. Is it worth trying to refill the cartridges with the ink kits that are available? Do the cartridges still print OK with refill ink? Thanks for any input.

Refilling printer ink cartridges? It is worth it?

If you want to keep the printer.....
I purchased a kit with clear cartridges that made it easy to fill.
The problem is if the plug/case leaks air then the ink leaks out, like having a hole in water cooler jug.
Do not use my printer very often and ended up just turning the old cartridge upside down and dripping ink into it.
Can get very messy wear gloves and use paper plates for each color or have very steady hands.
Note: my cartridges are not the printer head type.
So leaning to no.
Buy a new "tank" printer if you print a lot.Comment

YES, very much worth it if we are talking about a cheap Ink Jet where a set of Inks will cost about as much as new printer (that comes with only small cap ink pots).
Its mildly messy but ink is non-toxic (so I'm told). I've refilled same Inks maybe 6 times with cheap-O ink refill kit. I'm about to try it on my fairly new maybe 2yrs old HP cheap ink jet.Comment
