i swore "never again will I buy H-P" now I'm likely to buy big cheap H-P laptop.

Seems like they are only firm that makes low-end 17" touch screen laptops, which is what I want to be able to dabble with Solidworks at odd moments at work.

I was pissed at my HP inkjet that has a bunch of non-function "connect through router" but now it works via cable and I'm finding out ALL printers are trying to force the "only through your router" that mostly doesn't work without 3hrs of quality time with Indian customer service. Then it only works that one time.

Any cheap printers that reliably work with Bluetooth?

I just had a sit down with Dell to go over their new product lines. If you can wait until April they have a bunch of new stuff coming out for laptops. We mostly use the Precision line for CAD stuff but they are changing their naming convention and model numbers for the new stuff.

thx, but low cost and hence being able not sweat blood every time I leave it out or place it in some precarious position is probably most important feature. For the level of CAD I'm doing I'm pretty sure a 10yr old Laptop would handle no problem. I'm kinda psyched that SW works with Touch Screen. I've heard H-P lap-tops are fairly sturdy, and bit heavier, than some, but that is perfectly OK for me.

IMO PCs are mostly like cars in that there is no diff in actual user experience between driving to work in a Pinto VS a BMW. Seats are just as cushy, noise levels similar, and speed is limited by traffic and fear of CHP. I kinda have same opinion about guns. Even fairly cheap guns will be more accurate, and more reliable, than I am in anything accept some level of Bench Shooting I've not yet reached.

HP stuff is ok. At least until the batteries swell and push the screens off. Haha

we had to toss like 50 of those hp Elite laptop/tablets. In fairness the Microsoft ones did the same thing.

          Lenovo for the win.

Getting my new 17" HP sorted out. Didn't come with ANY bloat ware!!! only thing on Desktop was Edge and Recycle and "learn about...."

Even only "installed apps" are like Cortana, Family, Feedback Hub, Copilot, Mail and Calender, etc. basic stuff some legit people might actually like. no games or non-sense.

Actually, System76 for the win. Their laptops are good, and their customer service is here in the USA. I know, because I called their support to order a few replacement parts (battery and a few screws).

For those who want Microsoft's OS's preloaded on them, I'd say Dell.

My HP Pro MFP M281cdw works great for printing from the phone. All of which is on the home WI-FI. Is there a reason for doing Bluetooth?
