just ordered first ever iPhone, WTF I'm I in for as far my "TRANSistion" to Apple? :)

Main reasons are Airpods for security, and hopefully my mothballed DJI SE mini drone will actually sync with an iPhone.

    (iPhone 12 mini).

You may have to develop a lisp depending on model. ?

I'm considering the same. Been using Motorla Android phones the past 12+ yrs., mostly because their battery life is just insane. Unplug at 6AM, plug back in at 9:30PM and I'm still at 40-50%, Forget to plug it in at night, not a big deal as I can easily get another 4-5 hours + the next day. Are iPhones there yet? My kids have 13, and wife has 15. I was in NYC couple weeks ago with daughter and I remember her iphone crapping out regularly when I was still at 50%.

My current Motorla, a G Power or something, is a little buggy...locks up and I have to reboot every day or two. It also only cost me $250~ new a couple yrs ago.

Apple = sucks!!! you must adhere to their format, bow to their will, and accept their overprice products, I started with Apple but unless you are 100% Apple universe it is a pain in the ***!

You'll probably want to start driving a Subaru to pick up your soy lattes from Starbucks. You'll also start to feel an urge to mask up everywhere.

Good luck. I Fn HATE my iphone they give me for work. Most unreliable phone I've ever used in my life. I've gone through a few of them. Why people pay hundreds of dollars for this junk is beyond me. My current issued phone is a 12 mini. I want to shoot it so bad. Maybe slingshot it into a brick wall after lighting it on fire.

I buckled under pressure from my kids and finally got an iPhone. I really liked my flip-phone. I was Captain Kirk flipping open my communicator.

I got an iPhone for my wife so she could access store coupons. She doesn't answer it. I can tell when the kids are about to call me because her phone rings first. Phones are stupid, but now I feel like I have to have it close by all the time. Stupid phone. You'll get used to it. Just don't rely on it.

i have both android (oneplus) and a iPhone 14. i don't do customization anymore (root etc). one thing i dislike is the itunes synching. you cannot just treat your music like files and upload/download like android. and re-pairing to 2 different PC's (work, personal) sucks donkey balls just to do this. vs. android - you can move your music up / down to any pc or android phone you want. but because it's work mobile, i keep usage very simple. biggest value it has is a 2nd mcd app so i get discounts while ordering on my other android mcd app too.

I was very late adopter for Smart Phones and had cheap pre-paid flip fone. But due its LACK of Bluetooth, WiFi, etc all fighting each other, it would work as phone and text in lots of areas were other phones wouldn't, back when Cell Coverage wasn't as good. Can't tell you how many times my boss and coworkers had to borrow my phone.

I'd recommend a Samsung Note 9 (my current and soon to be ex-phone). I misplaced my new Apple for about 3 days (hadn't installed SIM) and it was still at 35%. Note 9 about the same.

Maybe your kids got lots of power hungry apps running. Many apps such as Fitness Trackers will be crazy with location pinging or something drains power. Ditto with Dash Cam.

Your "they" that tell you you can't load video you've downloaded don't know what they are talking about. Using itunes you can do it. If you hate itunes as much as I do then you use a program like CopyTrans and drag and drop videos or music just like android.
