Am I being scammed by ebay buyers?

My company replaced a couple older work group laser printers with new ones. I listed the old ones on eBay since they have quite low page counts. There are heavy, like 50-60 lbs so I only do local pick up and will not ship. Last week some one bought 1. I contacted him right away for pick up and he didn't answer me. I asked again the next day. On the 3rd day he replied to me with 1 liners: "lets pick up. what is your availability". I told him and receive no reply. After a couple days I asked again. no reply. It's been more than a week. And he already paid. It was less than $150

Today someone bought my other printer. This guy has 0 feedback in his profile, but he paid already. He DM in Spanish "buenos dias en donde voy a recoger la impresora" . I sent him my address. He then said "disculpa no soy de aya si no de mission texas me podrias realizar el envio". I told him it was too heavy to ship and cancel the order. I then found out his location, according to ebay, is not in Texas, but Mexico. Ebay charged him international transaction fee. This printer is also less than $150.

Very strange. Who would pay and not pick up? He didn't even ask to cancel. Is there a trick/ scam here that I don't know? I made it clear that all my items are local pick up only but a guy in Mexico still pay and ask where to pick up, then ask me to ship when I sent him my address? I start to worry that people just want to get my address. I hope this is just a coincident.

Never transact in person at an address that the buyer can connect to you. Best to do in a police station parking lot.

I don't think an address with old printers for sale is that much of high value target in USA. My guess is he has some Compadre that is able to pick it up.

If I do local pickup, I require cash when they pick it up. Used to be taking payment before doing local pickup opened the seller up to a "item not recieved" claim because there's no evidence of shipping. It's been a while since I've done it so IDK if it's still possible or not.

as always, contact Ebay ASAP. The scammers are heavy and the buyer is always favored... So report to Ebay and ask for guidance.

Off the top of my head, they ask for a refund. You send new money to them vs cancelling the payment they made... then the payment you made is revered as fraudulent.

Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

how did the ebay'er pay? maybe waiting for the opportune statement - hey give me back my $150 and i'll give you $200 cash or something like that ala nigerian price style scams.

else it's a reseller seeing a good buy but they may go thru tons of stuff and delay or forget what they transact.

Except when the transaction involves at least one hooker.
