Inserting a scanned signature into a MS Word doc

I'd like to be able to insert my signature into word docs. How do I go about it? Obviously, I'm guessing I scan my sig, but what format should I save it in, and then how do I insert it into my doc?

    thanks...

If you use it a lot you can also make a auto correct to insert it automatically. I have it set so when I type my initials they're automatically replaced with "Regards," my sig image, then contact info.

          i suggest you dont...

          why?

when i used to work for a pubic university here in northern calif, at one time, i had the digital signatures of the president, the deans of the 3 out of 4 schools, a couple VP level people and tons others pay grade higher than me...

          their full signatures...
