    DCS A-10C

Anyone else into flight sims? I have about 8 hours into this so far and i can finally get the thing going from a dead start on the runway with most of the avionics and weapons systems working. still cant lock and fire mavs, and i dont have a full understanding of the bomb plumb but i can wreck some face with the GAU. The start up procedure takes about 7 minutes, including the wait time for INS to spool up and Built In Tests' to run.

The targeting pod (called the lightening) is pretty fing nuts. i could pick an individual out of a small crowd from 4.5 nautical miles away at 5K feet.

still chipping away at the flight manual, which is 667 pages. seems more fun just jumping in and pressing stuff, being that its a totally consequence free environment. i just cant get over how detailed the cockpit is.

Almost 50 views and no one thinks the inside detail is awesome enough to warrant a "that's cool". i must be easily entertained.

I've worked on the real thing, played LOMAC and debated whether or not to buy this one. I'm really digging the graphics and hope my vid card can handle it

Sweet! When you say you worked on them, i dont know much about that side of it. Do you work on every system and every aspect of the airframe or do you have some kind of specialization?

same guys make this as Lock On, Eagle Dynamics. I hear they make or have some hand in the actual air force simulators? i don't know if you can lend anything to that.

After playing this, MS Flight Simulator and X-Plane are just too damn pedestrian. The new MS Flight is a joke!

The bullets with my name on it I'm not worried about, it's the "To whom it may concern" ones I'm worried about.

I used to play Falcon 4.0 too, was pretty heavy into the modding scene, back before F4UT, back when there were still two competing groups. Can't remember what they were called for the life of me though ... Back about 2002 or so I got a chance to get into an F-16 simulator, and based on many many hours of Falcon I was able to successfully take off and smoke a non-maneuvering target with a Sidewinder. Landing ... that didn't go so well though. Came in too high, sink rate was a little too quick, and I crushed the landing gear. Probably wouldn't have survived, if it had been a real F-16.

I've been looking at DCS:A10C with a fair amount of lust, but I just don't have the time to devote to playing it, nor do I really have a setup that would be conducive to gaming on that scale.
