Back in the late 90's Eccard Drugs (before CVS bought them) Had a best of the best photo album. The photo guys were saving copies of the nekkid lady prints in a special photo album. Some ex employee ratted them out to the local media. Unfortunately, although the technology has changed, people wont change.

this is probably why digital cameras are such a hit with the average user. allows them to take private photos and print them out at home (with a decent printer and using correct photo paper). and don't have to worry about strangers seeing it.

oh and i heard some of those pc repair places (geek squad included) do the same with digital photos, so it is always best to save photos to external HD's or burn them to disk before taking in any computer to get serviced.

Lots. Before CVS, it was known as "Longs" - i worked there for a year as a "Stock Technician" (stock boy )

The photo guy always had a handful of the local college co-eds misbehaving from print turn ins for the day. Guy would print loads of these things for himself.

At the time ( i was 17 ) it was totally humorous. Now im ultra-creeped out by it because homeboy was a bit weird otherwise so it's like icing on the memory cake

That is what I was thinking, I print my own...not that I have anything I want to hide, I just don't want some creep looking at my wife or kids in 'that' way.

one day in the near future, developing your own pictures will land you on the pedo watch list or some ****. mark my words.

my bbf is a comp forensics monkey and he is never not amazed at the high technology employed by pedos and similar creeps, to hide their tracks and evidence.

That being said, the idea that a pedo would revert back to something like printing their own photos seems whole heartedly "unlikely as a trend though im sure depravity knows no bounds"

or in other words : from his several years on the team, it seems that there are groups of people that push the technological edge @ home : System Building Gamers and Pedos. So likely home development won't be frowned on like "hording ammo" or "storing food" is presently.

Hopefully. Can't anything be left untainted by humanity's sick, sick underbelly ?

I owned a PC repair business for many years and I'll never forget the stuff I found on an attorney's hard drive once... it was hundreds of big sloppy fat women in bikinis. I'm talking like 500+ lbs. I never could look at him without laughing after that, I don't think he ever realized what the joke was about.

The crazy part was his office manager was his wife and she was very attractive and fit.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Do people still "develop" pictures? One of the downsides of digital media is that it all gets stored, backed up, and archived. That stuff will never go away. Who knows how even the most innocent photos may be used against you 10, 20, 30 years down the line? Now it's pedophiles, but where will the lines be drawn? Advocates of liberty? Political campaigns? Terror "watch" lists?

Even when you think you've deleted stuff, the files are still accessible.

Disk Digger is a common program. One friend bought an old machine at a garage sale, was he surprised what he found.

copymachines are the corporate version of what you're describing. Those things are venerable oasis' of personal data no one ever thought was being collected

Be careful, media cards and drives still contain the files that you used to be able to see, even if deleted, recycle-bin emptied, or even formatted (via higher-level or OS format utility).

One can even select certain file types only (mp*g, jp*g, or bmp for example) to pull off a drive, so be careful who you give used media (even an old computer w/ a HDD) to, as freeware/Open Source Software is freely/readily available...

A single full wipe will prevent this(, but a DoD wipe is pointless, and a waste of time).
