    Calguns not opening on mac

All other sites come up fine, but calguns will not open. The address comes up in the address bar, but it does not complete. What the heck could cause this?

      Bridgeport,

I'm haveing trouble too and I don't have a Mac nor a slow PC. If I do get to the main page, all other pages are VERY slow to open, if at all. I couldn't even get on Calguns at all yesterday. (2/3/12).

I hope it gets squared away soon. I don't envy the administration when making server changes...sometime I hate computers---

      Respectfully
      Kyle

I was having some issues yesterday, it is probably some residual effects of the migration.

DNS, providers goofing-up, and the like can sometimes be a huge pain, and take weeks to get things dialed in...

(Still had to poke fun at the EVILer Corp. )

I don't know if MACS hold DNS cache very long, release/renew dhcp, or try clearing DNS cache (I don't know how to do this on a Mac, only Win, and Slackware Linux).

Yep, there is a 35 to 55 second delay on loading pages on my PC. Much longer for searches.

I guess slow is better than no go...

            It's a DNS issue.
Do to the server move, calguns.net got a different IP address and it will take awhile for it to trickle down to the various DNS servers.

I'm on ATT (whose DNS sucks anyway) and it wasn't happening. I switched my DNS over to the open DNS servers and then was able to connect.

Even now, it is a bit iffy for me as a traceroute shows multiple IPs for calguns.net. Some pages load using the "new" IP but then halt because they are trying to call some content using the old one.

I was having speed issues. I flushed my DNS cache and now my speeds are back to normal.

I'm on an iMac and, since the server change, have had no lag time at all in opening Calguns.

Rebooting your Mac will flush the DNS (Domain Name System) cache. Doing periodic maintenance with Onyx (click to DL the right version for your OS) might prove beneficial as well.

                              try: tracert calguns.net

and find out where the delay is, at work right now behind a firewall so I can't check, but it should tell you where the hangup is
