Need to convert a scanned doc to one I can edit.

If I run a typed document through my scanner, is there a way to save it or view it, and then be able to type or edit what was scanned?

If your software does OCR you can. It also depends on the quality of the scan, if it's not very legible the software will not do a good job.

I can't add software to this particular computer that I need it for.

I found "readiris pro" for HP scanners on a search on my laptop. Gonna give that a try.
