That's pretty good. The entertainment industry owns a lot of lawmakers and rents the rest. The sad proof are 1) the endless extensions of the length of copyrights, 2) the law making public domain books and music privately owned again, and 3) the DMCA SOPA mess. What they want us to forget is the copyrights were a social contract. The deal was that the taxpayers would protect the exclusive right to profit from creations for 20-25 years in exchange for putting them in the public domain after that time expires. That 25 year social contract has been replaced with lifetime plus 50 years while reaching deeper in the taxpayers pockets. Unfortunately SOPA and worse will pass at some point.

Umm, how is SOPA "busted" like the title says? The guy in the video(the one youtube won't let him show you? wtf? youtube is owned by google, who has been actively against SOPA for a while now) seems like a hyperactive nut blathering on about how the big media companies and their subsidiaries support SOPA, duh.

edit: And it seems that he thinks bit-torrent itself has been used in some conspiracy about piracy because companies license it for content distribution, as well as it's obviously legal uses for software distribution(linux ISOs being a major example. Blizzard Entertainment licensing it for patch distribution in their WoW game client would be another), wtf? Why lie about how bad the bull**** stinks, as if we don't already know it's bad enough? Yes, I'm calling the guy in the video a crackpot. See this thread http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=520588 for some actual info about who is supporting the bill, and who has publicly posted some sort of opposition to it and what their excuses are.

It just didn't get passed today. It will be reintroduced and passed in the middle of the night when nobody is paying attention like Obama care.

its up for voting on the 24th.

the 18th was a "the internet goes on strike" day, big hitter like Wikipedia were blacked out in protest.

I don't know where you got that information but it is wrong. SOPA and PIPA have been postponed indefinitely. This is all just political posturing though, they'll be back.
