Need Windows 98 in OC/San Diego by Tomorrow! Help!!!

Does anyone have an old Windows 98 disc in the South Orange County/San Diego area. I need to reload Windows 98 onto an old computer and can't find my disk anywhere. Would anyone be able to loan/let me buy a copy that they have. I will be traveling between downtown San Diego and Orange County tomorrow. Let me know. Thanks!

If you have a legitimate license key then there's no harm in just torrenting it - Microsoft hand out .iso's like candy for currently supported software - it's the license key that costs.

If you don't have a legitimate key then torrenting is bad.

Besides the fact that there is a chance that the iso has been modified with a trojan.

What is the computer going to be used for? If you're just using the web try Linux Mint.

Anyone who actually gets a virus in this day and age is an idiot, no matter how much stuff they torrent.

With all the high quality free AV tools - starting with Microsoft Security Essentials - there is absolutely zero excuse for getting a virus, ever.

If you've got a valid license for the software but can't find your disk, then use BitTorrent. It's fine. Just find a torrent that has a lot of comments, read them all and make sure that nobody's making accusations of virii. Also look at the number of seeds. If something has a lot of seeds and it's more than a couple hours / days old, then you can be pretty sure it's a good file. Otherwise, nobody will seed.

Is this for some kind of computer history museum?

It's more likely that it's due to legacy software.

We have a couple of systems here which run Windows 98 purely because a certain piece of software that's no longer developed will not work on anything higher.

Well, technically it would work on Windows ME, but I'd rather catch gonorrhea than have that on my network.
