Decided I'm upgrading to an iphone 4s in about a month. My sister, bro-inlaw, and wife have one plus most of the rest of the family. I'm a surveyor and road work inspector so I'm in a lot of bad weather and rough and tumble conditions. Any good all weather cases or something ultra durable?

OTTER BOX!!! I dropped my iPhone 4 from 1 story and it survived without even a dent!
Ive had one for my 3G before also, very durable and dependable."A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
"Between your faith and my Glock 9mm I'll take the Glock."

Otterbox Defender.

That said, the 4 series isn't as good as the 3G / 3GS series. The Otterbox on my 3GS had paper screens over all the holes for speakers and such. With the 4, there's nothing. Also, get a good screen protector. Ideally, get a screen protector that covers both front and back - I got one at the AT&T store. I can't remember what the brand was, but it was like $25.00, and COMPLETELY worth it.Last edited by Peter.Steele; 01-01-2012, 4:38 PM.NRA Life Member

I have to say the Griffin Survivor is a tougher case than the Otterbox Defender.
I have owned both, the biggest down side to the Survior is that if they use the camera frequently the rubber flap can be a pain to secure out of the way. Also if they text or type a lot the screen is recessed a little deeper than the Otterbox so the buttons of the side of the keyboard can be just a little harder to get to.
It is a fantastic case if you can live with those issues.Comment

Ballistic Case
Seidio Case
Im usually a fan of Otterbox products but for the iPhone 4/4s they missed the mark.Comment

Not familiar with the Seidio, but the Ballistic case isn't any better than the Otterbox.
That said, I was very displeased with the case that I bought originally - the flaps wouldn't stay shut, the rubber was loose - and I called Otterbox. They sent me a brand new one, no questions asked. The replacement was MUCH better.
I bought the original one at Radio Shack, but I almost wonder if it wasn't a fake, with how badly the rubber fit. The one direct from Otterbox, though, is great. (With the minor exceptions of changes not for the better compared to the 3G version of the case.)NRA Life Member

Hmm..I was all about the case when the phone came out, but all the bad reviews steered me away. I wonder if you got a revised/retooled case.Comment
