    recording audio on computer

I listen to streaming MP3 audio from a far away radio station on my laptop and would like to record the audio in a format I can burn to an audio CD to later play in an old fashioned CD player in a stereo system. Can anyone recommend any reliable software that does the recording and conversion? I'm not going to use something like Sound Recorder which records from an external microphone source, but want to capture the audio from the stream. I'm using CDBurner XP to burn the audio files onto a CD. Thanks everyone.

i use mp3mymp3. it'll record it into mp3 format. however, you have to change your recording devices setup. (right click on volume icon on taskbar -> recording devices). then right click and show disabled devices just in case. I use the stereo mix selection and make that a default. just remember to switch back to microphone later in case you use your machine for skype or anything that uses a mic.

for mp3mymp3, there is a s/w that is not virus or malware, but more like data collection (can't recall the tecnical term right now). it's called relevant s/w. it'll show on your default programs after reboot. just uninstall it after. it is mentioned in the t&c but you don't have to have it running. if you really want to play it safe, clean up the registry also after uninstall to see anything lingering.

even with relevant s/w, i still use it and it's truly a freeware.
