    Avoid Simple Mobile Like the Plague...

    I had soooo many problems with these guys it is hard to know where to start. Now bear in mind, I was extremely patient with these guys even when most people would have screamed eff it.

    Their low rates are extremely enticing. $40 a month unlimited everything...who wouldn't want to switch.

    They have all kinds of videos on YouTube showing how to get various phones to work, even the unsupported ones...many of those videos made by the company and clearly an attempt to use social media to advertise. Except, they don't really work on those phones. Not most of the time.

    In addition to not being able to work on phone that I tweaked 6-ways to sunday in attempt to get it to work on their netword (with them on the phone for 6 hours), I experienced several extremely rude customer service reps (one who even hung up on me), double billing issues that one service rep tried to make out as being my fault and something I had to live with, and refusual to refund my money even those I was never able to get my phone activated on their network...which I am disputed with the credit card company by the way.

      I have no problem on Simple Mobile. I starter at $60, then change to $50 the next month. And now i stay on $40 unlimited using my iPhone. For 4 months, i never encounter a problem on simple mobile. But i didn't get my free $5 for initial subscription. Its not a big deal though, because i'm satisfied with the service.

          I have Simple Mobile on the $40 Plan, only problem I have is the "3G Plan" is way below 3G... Its below EDGE I believe... crawling speeds. They call it an un enhanced 3G Speeds. Going to upgrade to the $60 Plan and purchase the Samsung Galaxy S II or a different 4G Phone under T-Mobile. I thought about getting a Blackberry... but eh.

          @tacticalcity: What phone do you have and what are you trying to configure?

          I REFUSE to go to Boost Mobile or Metro Piece of S___. Both services have horrible reception in my city and horrible in my room. Sometimes I would get dropped calls or my phone wouldnt even ring when I'd get a call then I'd get a voicemail notification.


          I was with Page Plus for 1 month, needed a basic phone for calls and texts. The page plus service I had, ran off T-Mobile. Depending on what area you live, they provide SIM Cards or CDMA Phones for that area. I guess the Walmart by my house assumes T-Mobile has better service then any one else.

            What can I say, I like my phone to work. And because of that, I continue to be raped for over 140 bucks a month on Verizon. And that's after 25% discount.

            The only "cheap" service I would consider is simple talk, even though the phones blow.
