calguns slow

Computer seems to work fine everywhere else but now when I log onto calguns it is superslow. Any ideas?

It's been lagging on my iPhone. I just stop it opening then refresh and it will open. Pain in the butt but it is what it is I guess. It will be interesting to see if it is happening to others as well

Ok it takes forever most of the time for a page to load. This has to be just me, or there would be 5000 threads of people complaining. Does anyone have any ideas? This is the only site I have a problem with, everywhere else is pretty fast.

There's over 87,000 registered members. That's a HUGE database to handle. It takes a LOT of horsepower to handle the database, and an INSANE amount of bandwidth to serve it all up. And a LOT of money to pay the bill.

Unless you're lucky enough to get a click in when there's NOBODY else active, it's pretty well NEVER going to be fast.

You can do one better and make sure that the awesome people/company hosting CGN (and CGF, Cal-FFL, and other pro-rights sites) are supported directly. GeoVario and its owners are major reasons CGF is able to do what it does, and I personally appreciate what they do to advance our rights through their generous donation of technology and their time.

Considering I'm cranking through pages generally at about 3-5 seconds ( like this reply was 3.16 seconds to load ).

I'd guess you have the silly Courthouse Theme turned on - with the "make my computer crawl like a snail social instant message bar at the bottom turned on". aka "Calguns 1.1" theme.

Scroll to very bottom of this page - and select "Calguns 1.0".

Calguns is always spotty, and intermittently down. It happens.

Thanks!!!!! I think that is it, seems to be working now. And I wasnt complaining about a couple seconds to load, seemed more like minutes. Thanks again!
