    Charter Cable Internet -DOCSIS 3.0

Anyone here have Charter Cable Internet?

Looks like they are going to DOCSIS 3.0 with downloads to 100Mb and uploads to 5Mb. Pricing looks pretty decent also.

Good news Charter customers, you're getting a speed bump! The DOCSIS 3.0-based cable service is boosting both download and upload speeds across all tiers of its service -- starting at the bottom with its Express package, which will be a 15 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up offering from now on. The "flagship" Plus level is getting its rates almost doubled from 18 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up to 30 Mbps down and 4 Mbps up, offering you plenty of bandwidth for streaming, torrenting and browsing all at the same time. The fastest connection is getting not just a new speed (100 Mbps down), but a new name -- Ultra 100. Sadly, your $60 a month for the big bits doesn't get you particularly blazing upload speeds. Charter's tops out at a pretty modest 5 Mbps up. Check out the PR after the break for a few more details.

Any feedbacks or comments on how to get the best deal possible? I don't want the TV just the internet.

I just signed up for Charter Internet. Cable man should be here this weekend.

Got the "Special" off their website.

Internet Express was $20 for 12MBPS or $30 for 18MBPS.
Rent for Modem was $7/month or $10 for Moden/Wireless router OR Buy your own.

Cable man called me today to verify install time.
He mentioned starting Jan 1, they will have 2 speeds only.
    15MPBS @ $20 and 30MPBS @ $30.

This is on a 12month contract.

I had charter 25/2 and tried out the 60/5. Charter always worked great for me.

Now I'm on time warner at my new house... ugh stuck at 20/2.

Those are good deals compared to what I'm paying for charter internet. What's the prices after the promo is over?

I've been using Charter Internet since 2002. Speeds have been pretty good overall and pretty reliable. I have TV, internet and phone all tied with Charter at my home and just internet and TV at my parents.

do like I do when the promo is over call them and they will renew it.

The only thing I hates is having to drop 120 for a new wireless modem, but not as much as I hate paying 7 bux a month to rent one from them so I did anyway.

Oh and living in Rancho kinda sucks too because they arent using the local Verizon switch they are using the one in victorville which has intermittent connection issues when it's really hot out.
