    Remote computing apps, LogMeIN

which version allows me to see DX video from games? the free one sure doesn't, it just stops responding and controls don't work.

Even with PCoverIP technology you CANNOT reasonably run accelerated video across LANs, let alone through the Cloud.

Even those that say they allow it don't really work that well.

not though anything like RDP - but OnLive's entire service is streaming video games.

      compression is the key.

If you have any more than. 60 ms of latency you are dropping frames or they pre-cache frames and you are simply time shifted to allow buffering. Might be able to run a low end RTS or a TBS game but first person shooters are right out. At least in any kind of reasonable competitiveness. Can't micro with that level of delay in an RTS and can't get the twitch needed for a real FPS. Web games get away with it because they are designed about the concept of delay of input. It isn't just the frames but the delay in response time to input so you get alot more delayed actions than the raw numbers would indicate.

Yikes, I'm not sure if any exist yet. usually you can get a choppy frame of sequences and see parts of it due to the degraded /lowered video res since you're tunneling through via remote protocol to the machine. But otherwise, yeah, to actually see the video, you're better off having someone record the clip for you and send it to you or stream it to you.

you could use VNC. but performance is still going to be terrible.

I use Pro, and it's not going to do what you're looking for.

I'm with these other guys though...you're still going to bump into performance issues and latency with any other solution you go with.
