Man, I'm REALLY wanting this game. I'm sort of torn, though - do I want it on Steam, or do I want it on PS3?

PC version = community mod support like the previous elder scrolls games. There was more community made content for oblivion that you could download for free, than what was actually in oblivion combined with the DLC(morrowind had a lot of community support as well)

Audio and graphics updates, new classes, new items, new quests, etc. Getting an elder scrolls game on a console and missing out on the free content available would be silly. It'd be like buying FPS games on consoles and then paying for extra maps(unfortunately the PC fps genre is about completely "consolized" these days. When you look at PC FPS games prior to halo, they all had hundreds of maps, dozens of mods to add game modes, etc. because the developers would release the info for people to do it on their own).

I ordered this game on Amazon for release day delivery. I just need to find time to play it....too much other stuff to do.

I've played the Elder Scrolls series since the first one, Arena. I'm stoked for this game.

            I dunno.

I am in no way excited for this game, nor will I ever likely play it. I tend to play games for instant satisfaction of completing a goal. I've tried MMO's and RPG's before, but I always end up just wandering around not really doing anything with no urge to go and find quests. Grand Theft Auto has the exact same effect on me, as did Just Cause and Fallout 3, so it's not just the fantasy style ones.

The closest I can get to them is Final Fantasy or Deus Ex. I appreciate the customization of character elements, but I like to be told to go here and do that, then immediately told to do something else, as opposed to wandering back to where I was and maybe talking to someone new.

I don't like to have to think when playing games, or fend for myself. I like either racing cars, flying jets or shooting things.

            That's just me though.

Because we're on the west coast. It's unlocked at midnight EST, which is 9pm for us(this is assuming there isn't any delays, which has happened on steam before).

usually the super high profile games are pretty spot on. DEHR was right before midnight, so was DAII.

the only thing you will need to factor in is the download for the decryption, the actual decryption process, and possible a Day 0 patch before you can actually play.

but its only 6GB, so the decrypt shouldn't be too terribly long.

I've got Morrowind and Oblivion, and I modded the hell out of Morrowind.

I guess really the choice is between playing on a 62" in 1080i (PS3) or a 50" in 720p (PC), although modding (thanks for reminding me) does push things a bit in favor of the small(er) screen ...

This game is getting phenominal reviews so far. 9.5s and 10s. 98 out of 100, etc. Take it for what it's worth, if you trust reviews or not, but they're already saying that this is one of the best RPG's ever made.
