Security Camera Q: NTSC vs. PAL

    All,

I ordered one of these security cameras to add to my security DVR setup. I liked the sound of the night vision range. The specs say the camera supports PAL and NTSC. Obviously I need NTSC and the camera seems to be sending out PAL. I can not figure out how to switch it to NTSC. Anybody have any experience with similar cameras and have any ideas?

Some things I tried: different power supply. Disassembled and looked for a jumper or micro switch, couldn't find one. Temporarily switched DVR to PAL and camera looked good, of course my other cameras are NTSC.

    TIA,
    Dean

I'm not positive about this, but I think you are going to have to return the camera to get a NTSC model. The internal image sensors are typically made to work with either PAL or NTSC cameras and this is not user configurable (ex: Sony image sensors). The camera manufacturer should be able to tell you for sure.

^ this unless the camera has an on screen menu to let you change it.

Hmm, excellent info and quick replies thanks. Annoying that there wasn't any way to specify, and since other similar cameras said either PAL or NTSC (not both) I kinda assumed maybe it would voltage-detect and auto-switch or something.
